About NR5G
NR5G is an independent technical publication maintained by Piyush Kumar Singh, a software engineer focused on 5G NR Layer-1 modem development and NR-NTN.
Why this site exists
Wireless specifications define behavior, research papers develop methods and real implementations must still meet deadlines, RF constraints, memory limits and imperfect channel knowledge. NR5G connects those layers through explicit reasoning rather than treating them as separate subjects.
The primary focus is NR physical-layer engineering and non-terrestrial networks. Adjacent research topics are included when they illuminate future radio architectures, propagation or hardware.
What each label proves—and what it does not
A polished explanation may demonstrate understanding, but it is not automatically a reproducible experiment or original research. The site uses the following hierarchy.

Minimal, aggregate visitor measurement
When enabled, NR5G uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, visits, referral sources, countries, device categories and site performance. The analytics beacon does not use cookies, local storage or cross-site fingerprinting, and NR5G does not use the data for advertising profiles.
What an NR5G experiment must contain
- Question: a falsifiable engineering question, not only a topic.
- Model: equations, coordinate frames, assumptions, units and parameter sources.
- Artifact: runnable code with a pinned environment and documented command.
- Evidence: committed input configuration, machine-readable output data and generated plots.
- Validation: analytical special cases, independent reference values or a second implementation.
- Evaluation: baseline comparison, parameter sweep and sensitivity to error.
- Limits: what the experiment does not model and where its conclusion stops.
Independence and attribution
NR5G is not an official 3GPP publication and does not represent any employer. Articles rely on public standards, public research and independent derivations. Product-specific code, confidential logs, internal measurements and proprietary implementation details are outside the scope of the site.
